Dharamsala Animal Rescue (DAR) is a nonprofit organization based in Dharamsala, Himachal Pradesh, India, founded in 2008. Its mission is to create a better world for animals and people by addressing the human/street dog conflict, particularly focusing on eliminating rabies-related human deaths through humane animal control and education.

DAR helps approximately 1,500 animals each year and manages care for around 5,000 stray dogs, local pets, and farm animals. The organization employs a "One Health" approach, offering services such as spay/neuter procedures, free rabies vaccinations, rescue and rehabilitation of injured animals, and community education programs. DAR also facilitates local adoptions and provides daily food aid to stray animals. Through its efforts, DAR aims to foster a community that views stray animals as integral members rather than pests, promoting harmony among all species.
