The school has an interesting history and came into being as a result of earnest efforts of Late Sh. Narayan Dass Ji Sanghthan Mantri Vidya Bharti Uttar Keshtra comprising of states Delhi Haryana Punjab H.P and J&K since long desired to have a residential school in the SHIVALIK HILLS. He persued the Ministry of Defence in 1984 for the permission of a school at DAGSHAI CANTT. as there was a building owned by Hindu Shiksha Samiti Kurukshetra lying vacant but the permission was not granted by the concerned authorities and therefore the idea was postponed. He however continued to pursue the matter and ultimately when in the year 1993 he put forth the proposal before the working committee of SARVHITKARI SHIKSHA SAMITI CHANDIGARH the same was accepted by the SAMITI. The SARVHITKARI SHIKSHA NIKETAN was started at DAGSHAI CANTT. in April 1993.
