Welcome to the Himalayan Hydroclimatology Impact Research (HimPACT) Lab at IIT Mandi. Led by Dr. Vivek Gupta, Assistant Professor in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, this lab investigates the impacts of climate on the Himalayan region's water resources.

Dr. Gupta brings extensive experience to the lab, including postdoctoral research at the University of California, Merced, and prior contributions at the International Water Management Institute in New Delhi. He holds a Ph.D. in Hydrology from IIT Roorkee and an M.Tech. in Civil Engineering (specializing in Water Resources Engineering and Management) from IIT Guwahati. His impressive scholarly output includes over 30 research publications, with 16 peer-reviewed journal articles and three book chapters.

The HimPACT Lab focuses on climate change impact assessment, droughts, climate extremes, and the development of early warning and climate information systems. Research activities utilize hydrological modeling and both numerical and data-driven approaches to improve flood and drought prediction.
