About Hack on Hills
Hack on Hills is an annual hackathon organized by the AppTeam at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Hamirpur in India. It is one of the largest student-led hackathons in the country, attracting over 200 participants for multi-day events that last 32-36 hours. The hackathon focuses on fostering innovation, coding culture, and open-source development among students nationwide. Each edition features themes that address real-world challenges, such as technology for ocean preservation.
Participants work in teams of 2-4 members to develop innovative projects that aim to create societal impact. The event includes workshops, mentoring, and opportunities for collaboration, all designed to enhance the developer community. Hack on Hills also offers beginner-friendly variants like "Hack on the Hill" (HOTH), which features shorter formats and additional support. The event is held on the picturesque NIT Hamirpur campus, and there are no registration fees for participants.
